Dr. Eileen Borris is a highly regarded licensed psychologist, educator, and trainer who is respected for her body of work in mind/body approaches to health and healing, forgiveness training, stress management and working with troubled relationships including separation and divorce. She is particularly gifted in working with mindfulness based interventions and imagery techniques such as Guided Imagery and Music, EMDR and dream interpretation. With her unique blend of training she assists people in individual, relationship and marital difficulties as well as working with trauma victims and people with money issues. Dr. Borris began her career in 1985 when she helped organize a wholistic health center working with cancer patients. She is a nationally and internationally known speaker and trainer in the areas of healing relationships, forgiveness, reconciliation, conflict resolution and trauma recovery.

Dr. Borris has published extensively in the areas of forgiveness and reconciliation and has presented papers and chaired symposiums at the American Psychological Association national conventions and other international organizations on these topics. She has written two books on forgiveness entitled “Forgiveness, the Ultimate Freedom” and “Forgiveness, A Guide to Personal Freedom.” She has developed a Four Step Forgiveness Program which she teaches her clients. Dr. Borris received her graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University.

Dr. Borris is an international consultant and trainer to businesses, governments and non-governmental organizations. She is the Director of Training for the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy and designs and implements training programs in conflict resolution, negotiation, dialogue, and peacebuilding. Dr. Borris travels to regions of conflict around the world conducting these training programs with ethnic and regional groups in conflict. Within these many diverse projects Dr. Borris teaches processes of forgiveness and reconciliation within the broader context of conflict resolution and international peacebuilding.

 

Dr. Borris is a founding partner of the Alliance for Resilient Communities, a woman’s owned business. The Alliance for Resilient Communities (ARC) is a group of psychologists, social scientists and other specialists dedicated to supporting individuals, communities & societies transitioning into peaceful coexistence.  ARC provides psychosocial interventions and conflict transformation services in situations where disasters and violence have left communities vulnerable to traumatic stress. She is a member of the Committee of International Relations in Psychology for the American Psychological Association, and Past President of Division 48 – the Study of Peace, Conflict and Violence. Dr. Borris has been very active in the field of psychology since the mid 1980’s. She offers private counseling sessions, public talks, and workshops and training programs in Stress Management, Mindfulness Training, Guided Imagery and Music, Forgiveness, Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution.
